The outlets of maize for animal feeding, human consumption and for industry are numerous. Therefore, there are various bredding expectations coming from farmers, manufacturers and cattle breeders.

As far as grain maize is concerned, Caussade Semences focuses on yield potential, but also on all the production regularity factors, in particular ear diseases and sanitary quality, in order to provide a high level quality harvest.
For example, the needs of the semolina and starch industries are also taken into account with the selection of specific varieties, like the "waxy" maize.

Regarding forage maize, the cattle breeders’ needs are the main priority for our research department. In order to meet their expectations, Caussade Semences is working on specific breeding programs that consider the nutritional needs of the animals.

Caussade Semences selects productive and regular hybrids with a good digestibility and an excellent energy content. 

Finally, the last few years, Caussade Semences has also developed a research programme on “biogas maize”,  grown for energy (methanisation).

To create its new hybrids, Caussade Semences relies on 3 research centers, 45 testing sites in France and in Europe and on out-of-season breeding stations in the Southern hemisphere.
